Abstract: Stratification and the subsequent rollover phenomenon are serious problems in the storage of LNG. Several relevant accidents were reported. Two typical LNG rollover accidents were described. The important theoretical results? such as the double convection-diffusion models, Bates-Morrison model and four stage models, as well as the related experimental achievements were intuoduced. Some problems that worth further research were summarized.
