Abstract
Two typical types of small-scale natural gas liquefaction flow in skid-mounted package were designed.the study is made to select the optimum liquefaction process to increase the economy of small-scale LNG equipments.A same basis is used to evaluate three types of liquefaction cycles. These include mixed refrigerant cycle,nitrogen-methane expander cycle and new energy saving mixed refrigerant cycle. The results show that the N2-CH4 expander cycle precedes the mixed-refrigerant cycle on the premise of no propane pre-cooling.The result of comparison indicated that the new energy saving MRC is suitable for small-scale LNG equipments due to its reduced equipment list and acceptable power consumption.
