Abstract

A brief concept and research significance of magnetoresistance（MR）effect were presented.It was analyzed about the magnetoresistance effect of metal and its alloy and the mechanism of negative and positive giant magnetoresisitance effect（GMR）.Moreover,The development future ofGMR was alsoprospected in this paper.
